Music is a pure gift and a boon from God; it drives away the devil, it makes people happy, and through it one forgets all vices.
The church music festival REJOICE, led by Wolfgang Reisinger, is one of the most successful international church music conferences in Central Europe. Its goal is to train full-time, part-time, and volunteer musicians in the broad field of sacred music (choir directors, singers, cantors, and organists). At REJOICE, we place particular emphasis on this broad range of skills. We also want to demonstrate the interaction between musicians and the connection to a well-celebrated service – in daily services of various forms, where what has been learned is not being “tested,” but consciously applied in a liturgical context.
We want to be a musical refueling station, where once a year you can literally “refuel” and prove yourself in your everyday musical life with renewed energy and expertise. To achieve this, we continually come up with many new ideas – in literature as well as in the style of our services and lectures. Rejoice is gaining ever-widening circles: In recent years, participants from all over Austria, Germany, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Eastern Europe, the Baltic States, Sweden, Russia, Japan, and especially the USA have taken part in our conferences. The language barrier is diminishing with each passing day, because after all, we all speak the same language of music…
